Rebrand Checkmate Café & Grill with a bold and recognisable identity that reflected its energetic food offering. The system needed to appeal to young professionals and families while remaining clear across a busy range of restaurant touchpoints.
Approach
A character-led mascot was combined with chess-inspired visual language, bold typography and a high-contrast yellow-and-black palette. The identity was developed into a flexible system spanning storefront signage, printed menus, digital menu boards, takeaway packaging and promotional materials.
Outcome
The completed rebrand established a distinctive and consistent customer-facing identity across the restaurant’s physical and digital communications. Its strong mascot and colour system provide clear recognition across applications of different sizes and formats.
